The CARES Act, enacted into law on March 27, 2020, allows taxpayers who do not itemize deductions to deduct up to $300 for contributions made to qualifying charities, and those who itemize may deduct cash contributions in 2020 in an amount of up to 100% of their adjusted gross income.
